Scandinavian Blackcurrant Sponge Cake

I found a great way to get rid of a bottle of jam which we bought 2 months ago. We didn't like the taste of the jam as it was sour.
Today, I baked a butter sponge cake and spread the jam on it.
Guess what? The cake and the jam disappeared so quickly that I had to bake another round for CK!
