The Word

Times of refreshing

Here in Your Presence

No greater blessing

Than being with You

My soul is restored

My mind is renewed

There’s no greater joy Lord

Than being with You.

Aiskrim Potong

Do you know what I do to the left over “thong sui” that I prepared for Friday Home fellowship?

YES!!! Aiskrim Potong.

All I need to do is to pour it into an ice-lolly mold and keep them in the freezer. This way, my unfinished “thong sui” will not go to waste but, to someone’s waist! Hmmm…

Birthday!!!

A Slice of coffee sponge cake with lemon cream cheese topping and almond nuts.

My birthday cake! Age : secret!

Yesterday was my birthday! I baked this coffee sponge with lemon zest cream cheese topping. The taste was good except I need to improve on the cake texture. It was rather "springy". I thought it would be better if it had more "body".....

My preference are butter cakes. I have very positive feedbacks about my butter cakes. However when I use either whipped cream or cream cheese topping, I will need to chill the cake as the topping taste better chilled. Unfortunately the texture of chilled butter cakes are more "compact" and "heavy".

So I decided to try baking sponge cake instead.... and so begins my journey of a thousand miles in sponge cake baking !

Taiping Wan Tan Mee

BEFORE........ raw

AFTER!!! ready to eat!

Few weeks ago, my friend(Yvonne) gave me some raw Wan Tan Mee she brought back from Taiping. I was happy to have it, not realising that it was THE BEST wan tan mee I've received!

I cooked the noodles and have it for lunch! It tasted very nice. It's texture was different from the one I bought from the wet market.Later, I found out that Taiping is famous for it's Wan Tan Mee. wow....

The first round I cooked the noodles without Char Siew and Wan Tan. When I realized the noodles was so nice, I kept the rest till I bought some pork to make Char Siew and Wan Tan so that the Wan Tan Mee can be eaten at it's best!

Keep a look out for my next posting on homemade Char Siew and Wan Tan!
