Taiping Wan Tan Mee

BEFORE........ raw

AFTER!!! ready to eat!

Few weeks ago, my friend(Yvonne) gave me some raw Wan Tan Mee she brought back from Taiping. I was happy to have it, not realising that it was THE BEST wan tan mee I've received!

I cooked the noodles and have it for lunch! It tasted very nice. It's texture was different from the one I bought from the wet market.Later, I found out that Taiping is famous for it's Wan Tan Mee. wow....

The first round I cooked the noodles without Char Siew and Wan Tan. When I realized the noodles was so nice, I kept the rest till I bought some pork to make Char Siew and Wan Tan so that the Wan Tan Mee can be eaten at it's best!

Keep a look out for my next posting on homemade Char Siew and Wan Tan!

Pickled Pumpkin & Painted Orange !

Have you tasted "pickled pumpkin"? I haven't until last night. It's very crunchy, sweet and sour at the same time. It taste very much like any other pickles namely, papaya, manggo or zucchini. But, this one.... ROCKS!

Last night 3 HF(Genesis,Chrysolite & Emerald) met to have a time of fun! A time of games, fruits and nuts. We had lots of food and fruits, but my eyes and mouth were set on this interesting homemade "pickled pumpkin" by Susan Sim. I like it very much and I'll try to make this, one day.

We had a wonderful time of laughing till tearing playing those funny games that Jerry introduced. Me,Tiffany and Daniel won one of the " Naming Game". We had a Trophy!!! A hand-painted, Homemade Trophy! by Jerry...... 2-in-1 trophy... can display also can eat! Taadaa... see my trophy :)

Special Tea Time

Kim called me over to her house to have a cup of tea & fellowship together with Eve & Choo yesterday. We were all served with a cup of beautifully decorated drinks. I couldn’t resist but to take a snap shot from my hand phone since I didn't bring my camera there. That cup of drinks tasted so good, even though it was just a simple mixture of honey and slices of lemon. I believe it is the TLC that goes with it. The TLC (Tender Loving Care) of Kim’s concoctions that makes the drinks SPECIAL.

I only had about an hour to spend with the ladies, it was a wonderful and great time to be with friends.

Thanks ladies! I appreciate your friendship.

Movie and Food

Yesterday, We had a few HF members coming over to our house to view a movie called “ Faith Like Potatoes” It was a very up lifting movie based on a real live story. This DVD was sent to us all the way from Tasmania. We were so blessed by this gift.

At the same time, we were blessed by Charles and Ruby who came prepared with their delicate, tasty home-made “Tau Foo Fa”. It’s smooth jelly-like texture and the sweet syrup was really yummy!

We spent a wonderful evening of food and movie and fellowship with one another. Life is so rich with friends.
